Open and Upgraded Home in Cedar Park
4 Bedrooms (or 3 Bedrooms + Office), 2 Bath, 1 Living, 2 Car Garage & 2,193 Sq Ft!
Listed for $224,900 - SOLD

Conveniently located in the Buttercup area this Wilshire built 1 story is brick on all 4 sides and is situated on a generous and landscaped lot.  Completed in 2000, the owners took great care in selecting every feature of this home which makes this home look as good in 2007 as it did when it was first completed.

Tired of the Small Lots?

So many of the newer homes are built on postage stamp sized lots.  That’s not what you are going to find when you look at 1406 Duster.  The lot is a large, park-like yard of
179 x 114 x 50 x 193 with plenty of room to play as well as a separately fenced dog run at the back corner of the property.  A sprinkler system makes it easy to keep the yard looking good so that you can sit on the flagstone covered patio looking out onto the tree filled yard with the various landscaped beds, all the while listening to the music coming from the exterior speakers.  The home is nicely landscaped in the front as well and because it’s a cul-de-sac you will find kids actually playing in the cove on many days as well – something that can’t typically be done on normal streets these days.

Fantastic Floorplan...

This floorplan is one on my favorites for a one-story home.  Open yet cozy and inviting, the flow in this plan is great and has a natural feel to it.  As you enter the home you are greeted by a good sized hallway with tall ceilings that carry on throughout the home.  The hall, and much of the home, is painted in a warm, earthy taupe color and accented with white trim and 6 panel doors.  To your left is a nice home office, in a stately red, with french doors and plenty of natural light, which is an important feature for those who do quite a bit of work at home.

As you start to walk down the hall, which angles off, you will notice several graceful features about the home and how it’s the small details that make this home so wonderful.  Whether it’s the art niche or the rounded doorway into the kitchen or the half walls that create a wonderfully open feeling between the dining room, the family room and the breakfast room, the small details have helped to separate this home from others.  It’s not just the small details though. There is 12” hard tile down the hall and through the living, breakfast and kitchen.  This hard tile is also carried through into both the master bath and the secondary bathroom.  Frise carpet, the rage in new construction, was just installed in 2007.  Imagine how great the new Frise will feel on your feet

Before you know it you find yourself in the heart of the home – the amazing open area of the kitchen, family room, dining room and breakfast room.

Where the Heart Is...

If you love cooking, this kitchen is the place to make your concepts into delectable dishes.  The gourmet kitchen has is open and has counter space on all 4 walls as well as an island in the middle.  There are also cabinets on all 4 walls and in the island as well, providing ample storage space for all your culinary needs.  One could hear that and wonder if you would end up feeling crowded.  Fear not!  This kitchen has enough space to spread out and be creative while watching your favorite cooking shoes. Additionally the island and breakfast bar are great places for guests to gather and talk over your creations.  It also opens up into the family room and breakfast room creating an inviting, open area.  Other features of this wonderful area include a gas cooktop, built in oven and tiled backsplash.

The centerpiece of the family room is the brick fireplace which is accented with white wood framing and mantle and adds to the inviting nature of this home.  A wall of windows brings natural light into the family room keeping the space open and bright.  The family room also has a vaulted ceiling, decorator ceiling fan and is wired for surround sound.

Off of the family room you can find the master bedroom, which has windows overlooking the park-like backyard and helps to bring nature inside.  Vaulted ceilings are a feature in this room as well.  This is also not a master bedroom where you will be pressed to fit anything besides a bed as Wilshire allowed ample room in the space for several large pieces of furniture.  Through the doors in the master is the peaceful master bath, with a garden tub and separate shower, dual vanity (one taller than the other) as well as a very, very good sized walk-in closet.

The secondary bedrooms are set off down a separate hallway more toward the front of the home, which gives a nice separation between those rooms and the master, but not so much that you have to run a marathon to get from the master to one of the other bedrooms.

Buy a Home, Get a Community!

It’s hard to talk about this home without discussing the amazingly friendly nature of this little neighborhood.  Although this shows in the tax records as a part of Buttercup, the Fall Creek Loop section, and the 4 streets that comprise it (Fall Creek Loop, Duster Cove, Wesson Cove and Redden Cove), is really a neighborhood and a community onto itself.  Nowhere can I ever remember seeing a group of neighbors as friendly and helpful as those that I have run into during my time in the neighborhood.

Last year I had a different client buy a home in this neighborhood and one day I decided to drive my wife through it just to show her.  As we were driving, and about after the 5th person waived hello, my wife said, “I wish we lived here!”  Every time I have driven through these streets I have seen neighbors talking to each other (imagine that!), kids playing with neighboring kids and just a general feeling of community that makes someone feel fantastic about coming home.  You are also within walking distance to the park and pool for the neighborhood, where you will find many of your neighbors on the warmer summer days.

This beautiful Wilshire home represents a wonderful opportunity to own an extensively upgraded, customized and functional home on a generous lot in the Buttercup neighborhood, and in particular Fall Creek Loop neighborhood, in South Cedar Park. It is located in the Leander ISD and feeds to Faubion Elementary, Cedar Park Middle School and Cedar Park High School – all schools that have earned their fair share of acclaim and recognition. The location is just minutes from the lake and is very convenient to the Lakeline Mall area and the tremendous growth that is occurring around Lakeline.  It is also within 15 minutes of the Arboretum and Domain areas if fine shopping and dining is more your style.
